Scope and contribution types
Submit an abstract that addresses at least one of the four submission sub-themes. Contributions may report original research, evidence reviews, methodological developments, field applications or evaluations of policy and practice.
Choose the sub-theme that best represents your contribution. For interdisciplinary work, explain the connection between the relevant fields within the abstract.
Language and length
Write the abstract in English using clear scientific language. Write 200–250 words, excluding the title, author names, affiliations and keywords. Provide five to six keywords.
Document formatting
For your uploaded PDF or Word document, use Times New Roman throughout:
- Title: 14 pt.

- Quotations: 10 pt.
Include the abstract title, author names and institutional affiliations in the document.

Abstract content
For research submissions, include:
- Background and objective: identify the problem and research question.
- Methods: describe the study design, location or population, data sources and analytical approach.
- Results: present the principal findings, including quantitative results where available.
- Conclusion: explain the implications for air quality, climate, public health or policy.
For evidence reviews, describe how you selected and assessed the evidence. For policy or practice submissions, describe the intervention, evaluation approach, outcomes and limitations.
Report the findings available at submission. Identify preliminary results as preliminary, and distinguish them from work you plan to undertake.
Originality and research ethics
Submissions must be original and plagiarism-free. The use of AI to write abstracts is strictly prohibited.
Define abbreviations at first use. Use consistent units and appropriate pollutant notation, such as PM₂.₅ and PM₁₀. Support conclusions with the findings you report. Identify limitations that affect interpretation.
For research involving human participants or identifiable personal information, include relevant ethics approval and consent information where applicable. Do not include information that could identify individual participants. Disclose relevant funding and conflicts of interest.
Submission and review
Complete your conference registration, prepare the abstract in the VAYU 2026 online form, then pay the registration fee and upload the successful-payment screenshot during the submission period. Your abstract enters the review queue only after the screenshot upload and abstract submission succeed. Check the title, author details and abstract before submitting.
The technical programme committee will assess submissions for relevance, scientific quality, clarity and contribution to the conference. The committee will allocate accepted abstracts to oral or poster presentation, taking author preferences and programme capacity into account.
Uploading payment proof enables abstract submission; it does not confirm payment verification or abstract acceptance. Oral presentations are allocated 10 minutes. The organisers will provide further presentation instructions with the acceptance notification.
